Bhatti virtually opens Naini block of coal mines for Singareni expansion

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka virtually inaugurated the Naini Coal Block in Odisha from here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhatti Vikramarka said that the growth of Singareni Collieries in Odisha is a significant achievement for Telangana, marking a joyful moment not just for Singareni, but for the whole state of Telangana.
He noted that the opening of the Naini block represents an initial step towards the global expansion of Singareni Collieries, emphasising that a special initiative regarding the Naini coal block was undertaken during the Congress administration.
Bhatti Vikramarka also extended his gratitude to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Mandi and Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Dharmendra Pradhan for their assistance in establishing the coal mine.
The Deputy Chief Minister announced plans to generate employment opportunities for the residents of Angul district, who played a role in the establishment of the mine. He mentioned that extensive social responsibility initiatives will be launched, and efforts are underway to set up a 16,000 MW thermal power plant.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed via X that the inauguration of the Naini mine in Angul district marks a significant milestone for Singareni.
"It is truly noteworthy that the Singareni Company has initiated coal mining outside its home state for the first time. I would like to congratulate Singareni Company on the commencement of coal mining in the Naini block," said Revanth Reddy.
For nearly 136 years, Singareni has been a guiding force in the state through its mining activities, and now, by beginning operations in the Naini coal block in Odisha, it has opened new avenues for future generations, he added.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the special efforts made by the Congress government for Singareni were the reason it was able to initiate a coal mine in another state for the first time, highlighting the government’s dedication.
Revanth Reddy expressed that the momentous achievement of securing all the necessary approvals for the Naini coal mines and beginning operations there is a source of pride for everyone in Telangana.
He reaffirmed that the State government will provide full support for the growth and development of the Singareni Company, which is a valuable asset for Telangana and essential for the livelihoods of many working families.
